I see that for a stomach ulcer "Antibiotics. The standard antibiotics are clarithromycin (Biaxin) and amoxicillin. Some doctors substitute the antibiotic metronidazole (Flagyl) for either clarithromycin or amoxicillin" - so which is better for a first time ulcer - clarithromycin or metronidazole?

And taking them with PPI for one to two weeks- what is the dose? Do you take all three pills at once?? or take one antibiotic pill in the morning and the other at night? When to take the PPI, before the antibiotics or at the same time??

thanks!
Thanks Daniel, I have read about clarithromycin. But I have also read that is has really bad side effects like nighmares and trouble breathing. Is this true is most case?
