For the past few years, I have rarely drank milk. I used to drink it all the time and just kind of got sick of it. From then on, I would maybe drink a glass every month or so.Well a few weeks ago, I started drinking it again. About 5-10 minutes after I finish a glass I will feel moderate belly pains, and sometimes feel like I need to use the restroom because of it. It's not crippling, but it does hurt. I don't feel the need to throw up or anything like that.I don't have any family history of any kind of lactose intolerance or allergies. So, is it possible to be only a little bit lactose intolerant? I know a few people who are intolerant who cannot drink a dixie cup of regular milk without spending the rest of the night in living hell. I have never had these symptoms with cheese, ice cream, yogurts, or any other dairy products.Any and all answers are appreciated, thank you.-Kat.

You're lactose intolerant. Lactose Intolerance can occur independently of family history. The reason you probably haven't had the symptoms with yogurt and cheese is because yogurt contains lacobacterium, which almost pre-digests the lactic acid in the milk. Cheese is the same way. It's fermented.

lactose intolerant, i am too but the symptoms don't always come around when i have other dairy products. it's usually random for me. i'm sure it's just being lactose intolerant.

I think that milk might be something too strong for your stomach to handle or something. Try not drinking as much milk and you'll feel much better.
