The writing was all over the place. The storylines were shallow and rushed and pretty much everyone was out of character at some point. So bad. It was not a good year for Serena. Hopping from guy to guy...having an affair with a married congressman who was Nate's older cousin. Come on. 
That's not the Serena I know and love from seasons 1 and 2. And Dan became a huge whore. Nothing stings worse than seeing him with Georgina after everything she put him and Serena through in season 1. Ugh.
