stolen bike? can i get mine back?

ok so yesterday i traded my dirtbike for a fourwheeler.the guy had no papers and i told him i wanted a written reciept.( i traded on kijiji ) i took the bike home and even when i was there told him i wanted the reciept but completely forgot about it by the end n left. today i went on kijiji just for kicks and there it is,my dirtbike on kijiji. he used the same picture i sent him,which has my car in the backround with the license plate visible and he added a complete lie in the ad. i screen capped everything. i have all the e mails from him saved and his phone number,house adress everything. when i purchased my dirtbike i got a written reciept but lost it but both me and the seller have copies. i still have his e mail and adress as well as his phone number. were calling the cops tomorrow to make sure the bike isnt stolen and to check things out. if it is stolen will i be able to get my dirtbike back? and if it is already gone by the time i get there can i take him to small claims court? i also have the ads of my dirtbike that i had posted on kijiji with the information and same pictures that he is using.
