During the assembly, I had to go down to help out with the assembly and left my backpack at the bleachers. Once it was over, I went up and saw my backpack was missing! I asked my friends and other people that were sitting next to me and they said they didnt see it. I checked everywhere around the school and the lost and found for about 3 days. It had my textbook and some other stuff that I needed. The principal said there is a high doubt that some guy would just steal the WHOLE backpack(most retarded people just steal the backpack and steal the valuables inside and leave the backpack there). What should I do??? I dont want to pay for a dam textbook that wasn't my fault. If i actually lose the textbook would I be able to waive or reduce the fee if I am in the reduced school lunch fee program?

it could be ur fault but just talk to the principal and try ur best to not pay full fee

You will have to replace the textbook. If it's 0-4 years old you will have to pay full price, 4 yrs old or higher you will have to pay fair market value. What concerns me about this question is this:
"The principal said there is a high doubt that some guy would just steal the WHOLE backpack"

Is your principal in the habit of doubting your word? Sounds like a douche when you go to him with a problem and he says you're lying. As if there's some hot black market for school textbooks out there.

If you leave it unattended, it *is* your fault. That's life kid. Suck it up and pay for the book.
