Still Life Art Styles?

I am doing a project on Still Life Oil Painting. I have to use two different styles of painting. However I am torn between Impressionism, Post Impressionism and Realism. Doing the first two would be cool because then I could see the differences between them. But maybe It wouldn't be a distinct enough of a difference to count as two different styles? This is a summer project and my art teacher is really strict. Yet I dont have any one to mentor/teach me. Help!!!
 
that's a very interesting project:)

i would suggest you to do impressionism for sure, i like it alot. i also suggest SURREALISM,and CUBISM. Those are very famous and distinctive from others and are very particular and interesting...

Which ever style you select I would suggest learning a little bit of other styles during the same period so to be able to compare and contrast between the styles.For instance. Impressionists were trying to capture a moment of light at a particular moment in time. How is this different from what other artist were doing during the same era?
