Still Dealing

I'm still dealing with the bank fraud problem I have. Now they've closed my bank account and the claim I filed is in something called "Reg E". I fucking hate this. They want me to pay the overdraft charges that I shouldn't have to pay and whenever I call to ask when this might be resolved, they say that since the claim was re-opened, they don't have a set period of time that they have to settle it in.:fuckoff: I'm so fucking pissed right now. Isn't there some kind of legal action I can take against this damn bank? I'm so fucking tired of this. I just want my money back, I don't want to be sent to the creditors, and I sure as hell don't want to have to deal with TCF Bank again. At least they told me that as long as the account is in "Reg E" status they can't and won't send me to the collectors. They'll only do that if they don't give me my money back. This is some kind of sick fucking joke. I'm so tired of dealing with this. GAH!!!! :suicide: I know I'm kind of :horse: here, but come on, they keep throwing shit at me. :drama:

No, it won't be worth the court fees in the long run. Plus a bank defense attorney is gonna have his head on pretty damn straight, holding aces. Unless theres a blatant mis-step on the banks part dealing with your case, I'd say your up a proverbial creek.

Didn't you shop online with a debit card and that's how this happened? Credit only mam'.

I must say that was an excellent use of the smilies available:thumbsup:

As for your problem I would say, that you should just shoot them, or stick it out. Your decision though.

Skelter, I have a credit card now, so that won't be a problem anymore. And thanks Funny_One. I try to use the smilies whenever I can to better demonstrate my furey.

I have to say, I did feel a lot better after bitching about this again. So thanks for reading.

That's a bad idea. Credit is for large purchases that you can't realistically pay for in cash or check, not for charging up shit online. Seriously, if you're charging anything under 3-5 grand (depending on your income) you're wrong.

You just have to use a bit of common sense with checks/debit cards.

Jung, that's more than my limit. This is only my first card ever. However, I'm not going to be using the site that fucked me over anymore. I'll just charge my textbooks at the bookstore on campus. It'll cost more, but I won't have to deal with this fraud shit. I'm just so tired of this bank. I have a feeling this will never be resolved.

When I first read the title I thought Mags was a drug dealer. I believe that there has to be some legal actions you can take either against the bank or to stop this from continuing.

No. Minnesota makes you buy every book. It's stupid. They'll buy them back, but last spring I sold back a $55 for $5 back. It's stupid. I was supposed to get at least half back.

Definitely a lesson..

Never use a piece of shit bank that doesn't have a 100% guaranteed/stated policy that your money will be returned to you within 24-48 hours if you EVER call them and cry fraud...

I would never deal with any banks like that in today's day and age.

The limit will change depending on your income, but the idea stays the same. Only charge things that you couldn't reasonably cover with cash or check. By reasonably, I mean you wouldn't have to dip into savings or cut into checking too heavily.

Wow, that sucks.

If you're looking for a new bank see if Charles Schwab has any branches near you. They've been pretty awesome in my experience over the past 5 or so years. I hear Chase Bank is also very good.

I've been with Bank of America for quite a while without any problems as well. Plus, they caught it immediately when someone stole my parents' credit card number and was using it up in Canada.

The only problem is that most of the tellers at the BoA a couple blocks from my place seem to be dickheads...but alas, there's another one in town. Worth the gas!

Update. I called again today. They have until Aug. 24th to get this settled. I'll almost be back in school by then. *heavy sigh* This bank is shit. The only good thing is that now my account through them has been closed. I've heard of Chase bank and Charles Schwab, but I don't think we have any of them near here. My parents have an account through Bank of America, but the bank is a half hour from here and I don't think there's one where I go to school. I'm using Wells Fargo now and they haven't fucked me over yet. I just keep kicking myself because I was going to close the fucking TCF account back in the fall and decided not to because they have a location in the student union. Stupid me. *sigh*
