sternum mass with pain

hi, i am new!

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

here's alittle history a couple of years ago i started experiencing extreme abdominal pain(has been diagnoised (endo) also at that time i noticed a knot about the size of a dime on my sternum on the right side very painful with any pressure applied.. i was told it was nothing more than a calcuim deposit-not to worry it would pretty much come and go for the rest of my life no big deal at least that is what i thought.. problem is that it has NEVER went away not even for a moment and it has continued to grow it has completely taken over the right side of my sternum and ribs 3-7 (i think) it has spread from sternum into breast area but under breast it seems to only be growing on top of ribs and also back in december it crossed over to the left (i could physically feel it when it did) it is about the size of a dime on left now, but also seems to be playing a part in extreme breast pain waking up at night, finding very diffcult to move when first waking up because of pain, something as simple as a folded laundry touching chest when carrying sends me into horrid pain..
dr that i have has run several x-rays and nothing shows, CT and nothing more than issues related to smoking, bilateral ultrasound nothing, blood work fine- i am going to surgeon fri. i am very confused because it can be physically seen and felt yet test are showing nothing.
is there anyone out there that has this problem-i would think that if it was cancer something would of been seen by the test that i have had..

I have been suffering from the same problem for 2 1/2 years now. I have found several people with the same problem on here. It's possible you have a problem with your xiphoid process, which is part of your lower sternum in your chest. The threads I have found also state if you go see a thoracic surgeon and tell them what's going onand you want your xiphoid process removed. The pain should go away. Several people have said the same thing , you can see the lump(at the bottom middle of your breast plate), feel it, and it doesn't show up on any x-ray, ct scan or test. It might help if you find the other articles here and print them to take to the doc when you go. Good luck.
