During the time i have had a stereo in my 1998 escort zx2. I have infinity 6x9's hooked up on a clarion amp. When i hook up my subwoofer a loud engine noise goes on the speakers. The whine is loud enough to hear when my music is up fairly loud. The whine increases in tone when the rpm's increase. I have had a cd deck put it professionally recently which helped. Also i have a zero gage ground wire hooked up to bare metal. I have isolators on both amps. oh by the way i have a 800 w pyramid amp running my subwoofer and when that is hooked up without the isolator the amp puts out weird interference making the subwoofer go in and out and thump randomly. I have put many other amps in the car. The only one that worked without an isolator was a 40w old rockford amp. Unfortunately that amp didn't put enough wattage to satisfy my 12" sub. The pyramid amp quit working recently for a reason unknown. Please help any other questions let me know
no the rca cables have been replaced also with rockford rca cables that are twisted. The RCA cables are on the seperate side of the car. It is whining like it is the RCA cable but its not im sure thats not what it is. i wish it was. the problem was fixed for awhile cause i had rca isolaters that filtered it out but killed my bass from the 800w amp. The amp quit so now i have both sub and speakers on the clarion 240w amp. It whines bad. The isolators do nothing when i have them on
