I have several views. New poets starting out seem to concentrate on romance (she broke up with me, I'm crushed, I'm a goner). I don't know if this is an age-specific compulsion but probably. Romantic poetry seems to have limited conclusions: she loves me, she loves me not) and many times on this site offers no insight into love or attraction. What causes attraction ?
Maybe many lead boring lives ? Is poetry writing still taught in schools ?
However, without emotions what is poetry reduced to ? I just wish there were more topics addressed or deeper insights which come with maturity or intelligence or age or sharper focus in better poets. I hope this helps.
