Stephen Kings IT

While I'm excited by this, how the hell can that 1000+ page novel be condensed down into a film? It's why IT became a miniseries in the first place, as did The Stand. And as such, how can a movie be more faithful to the book? Because I've got to credit the miniseries for cramming a LOT of things in, and so much happened in that book. They had about 5 or so hours to work with as well, or was it 6? I'm sure the mini-series was split into 2 parts of 3 hours each - a film isn't going to be anywhere near one of those parts! So really, I'm dubious about a lot of it, and the faithfulness to the book sounRAB extremely hard to do for one film.

Besides, it wasn't like the mini-series strayed from the book - it just couldn't fit everything in, and this is another issue. There's no way they can include the sex stuff without it seeming ridiculous. And also all the other stuff about how to beat IT and what it is etc, I mean that got very confusing and intense at times, so it's no wonder they cut it out originally. Things like that can't be easily explained in films. And again, it's a film, so they will have little time to do so. Unless it is split like Kill Bill, but this is doubtful. I'd be all for that though.

Oh and the ending where:

Derry gets destroyed, in great detail

was obviously left out due to the cost originally, and while it would be great to see, it's actually quite superfluous because it doesn't change the storyline one bit, it was most likely just Stephen King having a bit of fun at the end and trying to make the climax epic for the hell of it - which is fine by me, but it's no great loss if it doesn't appear on screen!

Oh yeah and what's the betting this time they'll get great adult actors but god awful irritating kiRAB? Cause I don't think you could ever top that original cast of kiRAB...

The original cast of kiRAB were amazing. I'm fairly certain that no one could top them or even match them. The original cast of adults, however, always disappointed me and let the miniseries down.

I have mixed feelings toward this remake. It could be great, it could be awful. I think it could just as easily go either way.

Georgie: My Dad said I'm not allowed to take things from strangers!

Pennywise: That's very wise of your Dad Georgie. Very wise indeed. I am Pennywise, the dancing clown, and you are Georgie!

That is so funny:D
