STEP BY STEP u340 Tutorial.

Ok guys. I used the tutorial. Got it flashed cricket. But now my phone won't show any signal. I used cdma workshop to load the prl, it tells me the process is done but samPst doesn't show any prl. I tried qpst. it shows the phone as (phone's hex esn).But when I try to connect than it gives me an errors saying "online connection failure: unspecified error".
This phone is from a customer. Please help asap.

Now I need a little more help! LOL. I got the .bin file done and when I went to write the esn in CDMA workshop I was kinda stuck because I have an meid/or the A100*** nuraber. I know how to convert it I am just now sure which nuraber to insert in the ESN section of CDMA workshop. Thanks in advance for any help.

ok. thats what i thought. i have (2) alltel u340's that do just what you said...so if you get anywhere with the fix let me know

To activate the phone once you flashed it correctly and called for ESN change, DO NOT dial *228 or *228xx
You have to manually program the phone by pressing ##626* to get into the NAM setting
then put your MDN and MIN then start using your phone and start making calls, after you manual program it, DO NOT dial *228 again just use your phone to make and receive calls.

That is very weir. I know it should be 000000. but it said "invalid code". I tried 3 time and it give me error 3 time.

I then have a registered version of CDMA so I can write the 000000 to the phone but still getting same error.

By the way, this is prepaid phone. Is it different than post paid phone?

The MEID A100** nuraber you are referring to is the hex MEID. Convert that to HEX pESN and use the hex pESN:

I flashed the phone as posted, loaded the 1040 prl and then activated the phone, dialed *228 and the phone is now programmed!
Now the prl show on the phone varies everytime I do *228 like 1042, 1113 and others!! besides different phone # appears instead the nuraber I got it from cricket with different area code, It supposed to be 704# but I get different nuraber with different area codes like (602) or (503) and others!!
whats the problem? any ideas?
when activated I put the MEID not the ESN and when called the customer service they couldn't do anything!!
any clue?

yes the SPC from the phone will still be there, so you need to get the SPC and then change it to all zeros

I did but it asks for Code which i think the SPC supose to be 000000 but it says that is not valid?
