i have a huge problem. I have a 1986 dodge ram d250 318 as you all know. i had to replace the key lock cylinder because of a lost key, this lead to me having to disasemble the whle steering wheel. I'm not sure how to get it back togethor. Also the new key cylinder want release my key. was this becase i couldnt put the old key in "accesory"? I couldnt do that with a missing key as the book said.
now my issue with reassembly, there was a lock plate, a spring, a clipring, a circle shape plastic piece kinda funel shaped with a button, a golden frame to that, two plastic pieces, and two block shaped pieces with holes on each side and a copper bottom. those are he blinkers. should it have a spring on it? in what order do i assemble these pieces? and why when i tried to put the bring on then the lock plte over that then ue the lock plate decompressor did it just after awhile bend the lock plate? and how vital is it not to have a warped lock plate? and why there sch a gap between my sterring wheel and the column tself?
before you say look at the bok i say to you i have and it provides very few intricat details.thats what i need here today, someone who knowsthis vehicle and this steering wheel!
