Stebel Nautilus Compact Tuning Horn - Black

Does anyone else have one of these? Pricey but designed for motorcycles (waterproof) and has a 2 year warranty. Just ordered one and when it arrives I'll figure out a mounting method under the frame / seat area so it'll be out of the way. I really like the look of the Mini-beast 5 but it's a little too large IMO. This horn will allow me to remove the OEM cowbell and clean up the left side of the motor. I'll post some pictures and installation instructions when I get done.

Hey Wes, the link doesn't work but I had the the Stebel horn and loved it. I separated the compressor from the horn and placed the compressor under the left side cover then I ran some fuel line to the trumpet, then place the trumpet under the cowbell, do a search here and the are pics and how too's to get the job done. Those horns get people's attention.

Thanks, I updated the link to see if that works.
I've read about every horn thread and saw the info on splitting the stebel into 2 parts. I was going to go that route until I found this upgraded horn.

I had one on my V-Rod, mounted it in the air box......Not sure how effective it was there but I heard it plenty loud!!!!

Not sure where your going to mount it where it will be heard, except maybe somewhere on the front of the frame.

Let us know where you mounted it...

These have been covered many times on HDF. One owner fitted his out of sight behind a saddlebag. I tried that on my earlier model but there wasn't enough room. These things are bigger than they seem when it comes to finding somewhere to fit. Mine is still in the garage!

I had one hooked up which I had to use hay wire to keep it from separating. Got tired of it looking like a POS with the hay wire all around it.

It is loud, but still not loud enough. I have almost been run right over by some clown in a F350 diesel, windows up his a/c on, goofing with his radio while whacking a butt changing lane right into mine not even looking. I had no where to go but knocked on his drivers window with my fist to get his attention as heading up against a jersey wall. All the while my wife was screaming her lungs out.

Everyone else but this clown heard the horn that I figure since we had a lot of folks looking at what was going on blowing there horns too.

Only then I got away from him.

The best solution is Semi Truck air horns mounted under the left side bag. With on board air compressor and air tank.

The only way to stay alive in Virginia is to have LOUD HORNS, and LOTS OF LIGHTS and watch everything thing 150% of the time.

The original link show a horn that is much nicer looking than the $40 horn at Amazon. It is completely chromed and would not look to bad on the side of the engine.
