Stay with Verizon, Switch for iPhone?

I know that this is purely a opinion based question, I'm just interested to hear everyone opinions. I used to have a Blackberry Curve on U.S. Cellular but since I'm going to university in a different city I had to cancel my plan and get a new one. The Blackberry internet and push was awfully slow when roaming and not in my home network. So a few months ago I switched to Verizon. When I made the switch my dad told me that he wouldn't pay for me to have another smart phone since I was no longer on their family plan, so I got left with the env3. I'm also really missing the added features of having a smartphone. Now my parents windows phones have finally hit the wall and they are looking into getting the rumored next generation iPhone that is historically announced at the WWDC, which would probably come out this summer. If Apple finally decides to go with Verizon I have no problem, but if they don't my dad agreed to put me on his family plan on at&t and get me a iPhone also as long as i pay the 175 termination fee for my env. So my question is: If I have to switch to at&t to get a iPhone and be on my dads family plan again, is it worth dropping Verizon?
