I have been with Sprint since 1999, yes, more than 10 years! There were many, many times I almost left but they always figured out a way to make it attractive to stay...through my dealings with the retention dept. over the years, I had a pretty cadillac plan at a very low rate. That being said, my calls drop A LOT, and customer service is not the best...billing is often messed up, and I spend countless hours trying to correct things what seems to be every month. My plan was up in Nov. and I was eying the new Palm Pre or HTC Hero, so I decided to see what Sprint could offer me to stay. Long story short, they are not as willing to offer me deals anymore. The newer phones require a plan that would take me out of my "cadillac" plan and there is not much room to negotiate. So, for the past 2 months I have been in limbo...until this week...Verizon, prices dropped...they have the Droid phone I want (the Eris) and I can get over there for a relatively good rate. I will still, unfortunately, be at least $40 higher with Verizon...and, since this will be my first wireless move since '99, I am not sure what I am going to walk into and if it will ultimately be worth it. Thoughts, opinions, help? Thanks!
