Someone was arrested almost 4 years ago in Georgia for DUI. He went to his first appearance and plead not guilty, so the judge said he would move it to "superior court".
He has still not heard anything since then, and throughout the first year, he would call the clerk of court to be told there was no record of the case yet.
Statute of limitations in Georgia for a misdemeanor is 2 years. This was a misdemeanor charge, does the statute apply here?
that is my question,, doesn't he have to have been charged in superior court?
From what we have read, there is not timeline in georgia to bring someone to trial.
