Stationary bike question! Help please?

Hi, my explanation might be a little confusing but PLEASE just read it and see if you can help?

I use an upright stationary bike, but I am trying desperately to shrink my leg muscles while losing weight. I ride the bike with very little resistance, in the hopes that I won't increase my leg muscles. I sweat and my heart gets up to like 110 BPM, but I really don't know if I'm doing anything or burning many calories because I use very little resistance. What do you think?
