starting to hate S60. why?

1.the contacts: why I can not see the SIM only, and not worry about the internal address book. Could not figure out to use only the SIM.
2. streaming audio.. on and off... Only could get some salsa station working on the internet radio thing.
3. internet... rear web, i do not think so... most site do not work right, only basic ht ml... also what is up with the phone choosing and creating a new connection every time i choose the existing one as default? also what is the difference web services and web browser, since I think they are the same but seem different and they are? why the connection stayis on ever if no program is in use for the net...
4. damn slow... going to installations and then trying to open a new program take forever, more like 1-3 seconds and most of the time i choose something else since the phone does not react fast enough
5. more customization...

hmmm....it seems you should be hating yourself for not taking the time to figure out your machine IMO. Those are all basics.....spend some more time with it before you start bashing it. Which model do you have btw?
 
It also sounds like you should be hating your E50, not s60 as a whole. You're the second person to complain about speed and I can tell you first hand it's not a problem on other models.

You should also do as GT said and read a bit more about how to use it before you complain, since a lot of the stuff you've complained about has a fix.
 
ok I know how to use it... it just no other options... Speed... how can you improve that... online streaming radio... how is that... contacts? i need options people...
 
Streaming online radio is a challenge for all v3's running off of an EDGE or GPRS connection. As far as speed...the E50 is by far the weakest of S60's when it comes to power and speed. Look into the E61/61i, E65, N73, N93/93i, or the upcoming N95. These phones are much faster than the E50. The N93/N95 has a 330mhz processor as opposed to the 220mhz processor that the E50 has. The other mentioned handsets have the 220 Prs as well but have more Ram and just work a litle bit faster.
 
I don't know why you'd be using the SIM card for your contacts in the first place. I've been syncing with Outlook for over a year now. The SIM card carries my voicemail number and triggers my phone to find access points. That's it.

If you check out the posts on how to create subfolders, you can learn how to noticeably decrease the menu lag. As I also said, there are much faster phones in the s60 world than the E50.
 
compared to E61, E50 is not that too slow, but it is a bit slow on some areas, but fast on some... and i have not updated my E50 sw yet, still enjoying the virgin e50 sw...
 
Your response was constructive unlike others. If one is a newbie with S60, could you pick up your suggestions by reading the manual or is there a better way?
 
The manual offers little that's S60-specific - but you may pick up a few tips. Try it.
Just Google S60 applications (and your requirement/s), there are many, many thousands out there.
Plus there's this forum - but bear in mind that you'll only get useful answers if you're diplomatic (net-people are very sensitive and just as arsey). So pretend to be diplomatic and you'll be flooded with useful hints, tips and ideas.
