Starting eating healthy and exercising?

So I'm not overweight, I just am not healthy like I want to be. So I went for a jog/walk today, but I need tips/tricks for eating healthy, since that is my weak point... I just keep grabbing for the cookies. And I used to jog everyday, but should I do that everyother day, and do what in between? Like strength training or something. We're working on our exercise room right now, and we've got dumbells, and a machine, with the thing you pull down, and bench press... makes no sense does it? An eliptical and a bike.

Sorry, thats all over the place. I'm only 14, so its nothing too dramatic.
