Starter bike for 6'2" male?

I'm starting basic rider courses in 2 months and I've just been browsing potential bikes. I'm looking for something not too big, but not something so small that would make me look like a giant/girl.

I really like the way the Honda Rebels look, but I've heard I'm a bit too tall for them and that the ride would be uncomfortable.

Any suggestions for beginner bikes that would fit my frame?
I would like to keep the price ideally about $3,000
