Start at life: Fashion Photography?

I'm only 14 but have an idea of what I want to do in life. I love photography and really want to be in the fashion industry. So my main goal in life is to be a fashion photographer, then do still life photos in my spare time. My dream is to live in California so I want to find a college to be looking at in California to attend in my future. But what do I need to do now to be prepared for this? Where can I intern in Kenesaw, Ga? If you have any information on what I need to do or if your a photographer yourself and could give me your number & information it would help so much.

The reason I want to get started so early is because I have very big dreams, I know they might not come true but I can do my best to forfil them, Live in Califnornia costs lots of money and I would need to be experenced to get paid well. Please help me make my dream reality.(:
 
Big dreams are the best. I am happy you have them.
For now the very best thing you can do is be the best student you can in school. Why? You will need every skill you learn later as a photographer, every one of them. The more you can learn now the better you will be at learning new things later. I learned more doing photography then most of my friends have done doing a lot of other jobs.

Fashion being very visual you will also want to make sure you do art classes so you are exposed to more art then most. I still find time to go see art when ever I can. Museums, art up in public places and yes even the college here in town. I love to see how other ppl see things.

You should spend some time with fashion mags as well, yes, old ones you can cut up and file the images you just love and would want to have on your wall for years is how I picked my clip images early on in my photo training.

In Kenesaw go look at the photo studios work.. Think about if you like what you see. If you do then talk to them about hanging out in the summer helping do what ever is needed. This will include cleaning by the way.. lots of it. Later when going into the last year of HS take images into the paper there and ask to be able to bring images in the human interest area. Until then look at what they publish and try to make images better then they are doing. Remember, who, what, when, why, where. If you can not see a face and have the name for that face then the images is not what is being looked for.

College.. Brooks Inst. of Photography is still number 1 followed by RIT here in New York State and then the arguments start.. *G*..
