How do I start a band? I can play guitar and keyboard but I am not very good at writing lyrics.

If I start a band I want a female to be the lead singer because girls voices are so much sexier than guys. Where should I start posting stuff at my local guitar center and all around my university?
 
Yes, your university and local music stores and even local venues would be the place to start putting up flyers. Give a bit of info about what style the band is and what requirements you would like to be met (ie. female vocals etc).

You could post some adverts online as well although it's generally a bit harder to find musicians that live relatively close to you online.
 
try posting this in the backstage forum - you will probably get more responses. your school though is probably a great place to find musicians. im sure lots of your class mates drum or play guitar, or a cute chick who sings.
 
You can always start as a cover band if you aren't into writing music yet (or else find someone who does write music to join your group)

Some people will about cover banRAB being gay or whatever, but there's nothing wrong with it if you enjoy it.
