Stardust

I was a little worried being a huge Neil Gaiman fan, but I absolutely loved the film. The star was miscast, Claire Danes was just not ethereal enough, but otherwise I was spellbound throughout..... Naturally not everything in the book was in the film, and yes, the book is even more fabulous, but everyone should go - funny, feelgood, lovely film :)

After feeling dissatisfied with the majority of films I've seen this year, FINALLY a satisfying family film in 2007. Great cast, lovely looking, great direction. Maybe dragged a touch in the last 20 mins (action scene was way too long), but really - what more could anyone want from a modern fairy tale? A solid 4/5 for me. Gaiman, Vaughn and Goldman should be thoroughly proud of this film.

I absolutly love this film! it was fantastic!

All the actors are great in it and it was funny, exciting, very slightly sad, had action in it. All the elements for a good film.

I will deffinitely be buying the DVD.

Saw this film last night and really enjoyed it. I thought Charlie Cox was excellent but had a feeling it could have been even better with another female lead even though I usually like Clare Danes. A real feel-good family film. I will be buying it on dvd and would recommend it to anyone who likes this genre.

I absolutely loved the film... skipped Uni to go and see it, and really loved it. Not familiar with Neil Gaiman's work... only know of him through Tori Amos really.... but the film was great. Melanie Hill was a highlight for me. Great cast and great story. Michelle Pfeiffer was brilliant in it. Truly loved her role and character.... and so many cameos. Would reccomend it to anyone. Robert De Niro was brilliant in it as well... it was funny, gripping, sad and heartwarming all at the same time.

Went to see Stardust this afternoon with a couple of frienRAB. Didn't expect to enjoy it but was pleasantly surprised. De Niro had me howling with laughter - the 'whoopsie' :D

Took whole family to see Stardust- it was fantastic. 3 Generations loved it - even my husband who only likes movies with guns, fast cars or naked women (or all 3 if he is lucky) - its a must see movie. :)

I finally went to see this movie today and thought it was fantastic !

I remember reading about it in SFX last year and thinking 'I have to go see this when it comes out.'

I found Charlie Cox fantastic, even though he seemed a bit overshadowed by the likes of De Niro & Michelle Pfeiffer was simply fantastic! I greatly enjoyed the relationship between Claire & Charlie - I think they really complimented each other.

All in ll this movie was certainly a 10/10 for me !

Great film.
I can't quite put my finger on why I thought it was good, it just worked somehow.

It's also the kind of fantasy film you never see these days. It reminded me a bit of films like Legend (1985).
The witches were fantastic, and Tristan was wonderful - especially after his makeover. :o

How good is this film?

Just saw it today with the little 'un on DVD. Picked it up pretty cheaply not long ago. Didn't have a great deal of expectation, mostly because the fantasy genre's a tricky thing to get right. Blow me if it isn't a fantastic gem of a movie, with a bit of everything from Princess Bride to Legend to Labyrinth. And it's so well done. Everyone is just perfect in it, with the real surprise for me in the lead character. It's easily as good as Princess Bride, and really captures the innocence of a fairy tale, and all the adventure too. No sooner had it finished me and my daughter said we could just watch that again.

Please see this. You'll love it!

Umpteened. I bought it on DVD and my girls love it. The theme song by Take That is sublime - although we haven't seen the film for a while, my youngest recognised the song straight away when we heard it while out shopping.
