Stardust

Went to see this film today with hubby and the kiRAB and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very funny in parts as well and De Niro was really funny. One of the best family films we've seen for a while and are looking forward to The Golden Compass in December.

Just home from seeing Stardust and have to say I loved it! Had heard it had gotten bad reviews but myself and my frienRAB thought it was great. Didn't spot David Walliams in it but will look out for him WHEN I buy the DVD. A definite watch again film. Effects were brilliant. Thought Michelle Pffeifer (sp!), Robert DeNiro and Claire Danes were brilliant but can't believe Charlie Cox didn't get a mention! Never seen him before but thought he handled it very well playing opposite such huge names as DeNiro and Pffeifer.

The trailer is rubbish - my mum saw it and assumed the film would be awful but I dragged her along and she loved it.
The CGI effects are very good.

Aye, I've seen that already when I looked to see when the R1 release would be :)

Luckily I can play HD-DVD too :D

Can't wait to own this one to be honest and watch it with the family. I still am talking about how much I enjoyed it over a week after seeing it!

I saw this film tonight and absolutely LOVED It :) It's a real feel good film :) Some really good comedy in it I thought and not full of swearing/sex/violence for a change!

I would definitely see it again even and I'll be in the queue to buy it on dvd possibly even blu-ray when it comes out - it would be worth paying extra for:)

I saw it tonight, and although as a whole I'd say it was quite good, most of the first hour really dragged for me.
Robert Dinero was easily the best part of the film.

Went into it thinking it might be disappointing and overly-American.
Not so. I definitely enjoyed it on the whole. Nice story and some good characters!
Had a pinch of that magic reminiscent of Lord of the Rings, as well as a generous dollop of Narnia for good measure.

Really stunning special effects and opulent sets, with a fantastic part played by both Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert De Niro. Also a pleasant surprise to see unexpected cameos from Adam Buxton and Mark Williams! David Walliams also features, but I knew about him. Ricky Gervais... good part, quite funny but as ever, it's the same character in everything he's in.

As said above though, it doesn't really pick up until about half way through. Also, there's a lot of chopping and changing between scenes in the first half which is slightly annoying.

I'd give it a 7/10.
Enjoyable film. You'll be glad you saw it... but make sure you pay attention during the slow first half.

Brilliant film and excellent acting. thoroughly enjoyed it.

The funniest bit has to be:

Robert DeNiro dancing to the Can Can and his crew walking in on him!

I liked it a lot in fact might go and watch it again, Claire Danes was fantastic and did a very convincing British accent and De Niro was hilarious

I went to see it the other week with two of my mates. when the film started I didn't have very high expectations.....But I did enjoy it and thought was very entertaining.

I thought the sons of the king were hilarious!

Clare Danes and Charlie Cox worked very well together, came across as the perfect couple.

Michelle Pfeiffer was a great Villian/Comic Reilef.

It was good seeing Robert De Niro in a great role reversal.

All in all I'd give it 7 out of 10.........Good film, But I don't think I'll be in a rush to watch it again.

IMO the best part of the movie was
When Ricky Gervais got shot........It cheered me up so much. Just because I can't stand the unfunny, talentless bastard!!!! LOL
