Star Wars Vote... Best One??

Ok - now that all 6 films have been released and dissected - let's have your votes of which is best. I know the obvious choice will be ESB - but I think ROTS will and should come a close second.

My vote is as follows:

1. Revenge of the Sith 9/10
2. Return of the Jedi 8/10
3. Empire Strikes Back 7/10
4. SW A New Hope 7/10
5. Attack of the Clones 6/10
6. The Phantom Menace 4/10

I really think that currently ROTS is my favourite - it's a grower and totally surprised me due to the inadequacy of the previous 2.

I prefer ROTJ to ESB purely because when I first saw the original trilogy I was in my early teens and loved the Ewoks and the more light-hearted nature if ROTJ - and of course Leia's outfit. :p

Overal i'm just very happy that ROTS lived up to and surpassed my expectations of it.

Roll on episodes 7,8 & 9 !!! ... only joking..

Can't comment on Sith as I've not seen it yet.

1. Empire Strikes Back (no contest)
2. A New Hope
3. Attack Of The Clones
4. Return Of The Jedi
5. Phantom menace

If you love the ewoks surely you should have "Caravan Of Courage" and "Battle For Endor" in there.

I havent seen one star wars movie but I always here people talking about them and they have a huge following...I was just wondering what was so great about them? Maybe i will see one

I thin k a lot of the hype is mainly due to us being kiRAB when we first saw it and that we'd never seen anything like it before, as a kid all you're thinking is what's cool to you and Star Wars had the collest things ever.

Lightsabers
Space Battles
Laser guns
Darth Vader
LoaRAB of Aliens
Stormtroopers
Robots etc

It's just a simple fantasy movie really but at the time the F/X were like nothing ever seen before.

I think that what a lot of people tend to have forgotten when they went out and saw the prequels that they're kiRAB films, made for kiRAB between the ages of 8-14... I know I'm not 14 anymore.

Look at the kiRAB when Phantom Menace came out, they loved it even Jar Jar Binks!

Anyway, they're just good old fashioned fun. You've got the hero (wearing white), the bad guy (wearing black), the wizard (or jedi), the princess, the anti hero (he's a good guy but a bit of a bad boy), the cuddly side kick (chewbacca) and the comedy releif (the droiRAB).

Don't become a nut, just watch enjoy and smile.

Ok, so the special editions did screw things up a bit but that's the fan boy in me wanting to rip a rage.... but I won't.

1 Return of the Jedi- My favourite filmEVER
2 The Empire Strikes Back - Loved the Han and Leia thing
3A New Hope- I loved it. No idea why though.
4 The Phantom Menace- It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. i don't understand why everyone hated it so much.
5 attack of the Clones. Hated it. It was just a rip off of Han and Leia with Anakin constantly moaning.

Haven't seen The Revenge of the Sith yet.

I saw Star Wars a couple of years ago, and unlike people when they saw the original trilogy, I wasn't amazed by the special effects. I was however amazed at the story. That is why I love Star Wars so much.

1 - Empire Strikes Back
2 - A New Hope
3 - Revenge of the Sith
4 - Return of The Jedi
5 - Attack of the Clones.

The other one doesn't even get an honourable mention... ;)

Judging by the way the first three films were released in 1977, 1980 and 1983, whereas three more have been released in the last six years, what will be the correct order to view all six of them. Surely the most logical order will be:

Star Wars I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Star Wars II (2001 or 2002, whenever)
Star Wars III - Revenge of the Sith (2005 - the latest one)
Star Wars "original" (1977 - the very first one)
The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Return of the Jedi (1983)

From the mid eighties until the late nineties I often wondered why "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" were so-called, rather than simply being called Star Wars II and Star Wars III respectively. From the most recent two films released during the last five years it's finally become obvious why. We can now all see that "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" are in fact Star Wars V and Star Wars VI respectively!

Evidently the makers must have been planning to do the original three films as parts IV, V and VI right from the start, with a long term view to doing the first three parts much later in time. Unusual to say the least, why would anyone want to plan a 16 year gap between Return of the Jedi (1983) and The Phantom Menace (1999)?

I was once led to believe that eventually three further films will be made to follow on from Return of the Jedi, these will be parts VII, VIII and IX, thereby making Star Wars a nonology. Does anyone know any more on that?

I think you have to watch the films on the order they were made, otherwise lots of the plot twists will not be so powerful.

The revealing of Darth Vader as Luke's father is one of the most iconic scenes in film history, yet if you watch the films in episode order you would not get it's full impact.

It's the same with the revelation of Luke and Leia being siblings...or finding out that a senile wrinkled green imp was actually the most powerful Jedi ever...it just doesn't work if you've already seen Epsisodes 1 - 3.

I also think the descent of Anakin to the Dark Side cannot be as powerful if you didn't already know the future stories.

They must be watched in the order they were filmed.

P.S. I think ROTS is the best pf the lot...or should I say the last hourwas the best of the lot!

Well, i enjoyed all of the Star Wars films, and it would be very hard for me to list them in order of my favourite.

My favourite is probably ROTS, I thought it was amazing.

Thats a rather hard question..........although I think my list would be something like this:

1. Return of the Jedi.
2. A New Hope.
3. Empire Strikes Back = Revenge of the Sith.
5. Attack of the Clones.
6. The Phantom Menace.

Sorry about the joint favourites - just too much to choose from.

I must say however that although Attack of the Clones is 5th, I enjoyed the action in it........... Yoda (of course) - the first time we get to see him fight!!

Perhaps if I see ROTS a few more times - I'll understand it more and it may go up in my estimations!!!!

Have seen ROTS once, need to see it again to really be able to put it in my all time list, but I think it will be the most watched SW film in my DVD player for years to come.

So,

1 ROTS
2 ROTJ
3 TESB
4 ANH
5 AOTC
6 TPM

Hmm. Difficult, this question is. :D

I have to put The Empire Strikes Back first, followed by A New Hope.

Then it's Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi, I've only seen ROTS once so can't split them at the moment. But ROTS made me cry like an idiot and ROTJ didn't (till they changed the ending - it's the music, I think) so maybe ROTS just wins third place.

And then Attack of the Clones and The Phantom Menace equal last - hated them both, and would rather forget they even existed, to be honest.
