Heard that "they" (lucas/spielberg) were considering making the next three books in to movies...anyone heard something similar or was it just a nightmare I had!!!:o
 
I RABo remeber them saying before they made the first 3 that they were gonna do 6 all together!! the first 3 and 3 more to take over where Return of the Jedi left off but i think George Lucas diecided to not go ahead with the last 3 films!!
 
I heard that Lucas (aka destroyer of the franchise!) was not interested in doing it (thank god) but that Spielberg was...so JP4 permitting he may consider it...i must admit i kinda lost interest at the end of return of the jedi...death to Ja Ja etc etc...
 
AFAIK Lucas originally planned 9 films, Star Wars being number 4. Having eventually decided to numbers 1, 2 & 3 he said at that time that he definitely wasn't going to do 7, 8 & 9.

perhaps because the end of *jedi* was pretty much the end of the story really. i don't know if he ever had anything planned out for the last three, but the 6 there will be will pretty much be the story of Anakin from start to finish.

On starwars.com there is a huge spiel about what happens after ROTJ. Turns out that the emperor was not defeated in the Death Star mk2, the spirit of the emperor then took over a clone of himself that had been set up. Luke enRAB up going to the darkside so he can learn how to beat the emperor once and for all and then comes good again when he beats him. Han and Leia had 3 kiRAB 2 were killed in action, etc etc

Star Wars: Heir To The Empire
Star Wars: Dark Force Rising
Star Wars: The Last Command
These tell the story of the beginning of the New Republic and the uprise of Grand Admiral Thrawn. These books are excellent and are well worth the read. The Author is Timothy Zahn. Im sure these are the story of the next 3 films that could be made.
 
Oh well in that case then the books might be an improvement on the films then lol.

Oh okay maybe i am being a little harsh on the movies but honestly, Harry Potter could do better lol. I tried to watch the film repeatedly but i still dont understand most of it! I mean the story is sooooooo simple however due to the poor character development and the poor convoluted plot twists, the simple and pleasent story just got dragged on and on and instead of turning out to be an epic it ended up being a very popular parody of other sci-fi movies:rolleyes: . And lets not even mention Phantom Menace!:eek: . The Lord of the Rings trilogy is everything George Lucas wanted Star wars to be, but failed and instead created a pop corn filler, which is nothing wrong with that but you do get the feeling that George wasnt really intending the film to be like that.

But hey its become a popular franchise and has churned out millions so what do i know:rolleyes:
 
Attack of the Clones is the second best of the five so far, after Empire Strikes back. Yoda's fight just pips the original Stars Wars. The worst of the five films was ROTJ which means the first two aren't as bad as the fashionistas would try and make you believe.
Having Episodes 6-9 would be good all George Lucas neeRAB is to hire decent writers but personally I rather see the story of the war between the Jedis and the Siths - that would be good if it was done darkly enough.

Having recently seen the movie again on Sky Movies, my reaction to this remains the same as it was when I saw it in the cimema.

LAUGHTER!! :D

Seriously, virtually everyone broke out in guffaws when I saw this... it was just ridiculous - pity cause the rest of the film (with the exception of Anakin's cringe-worthy chat-up lines ;)) was quite good really.
 
I reckon the last fight in Phantom Menace was probably one of the best in a movie ever. I was disappointed by the fight scenes in Clones (apart from Yoda's brief battle). I thought that Anakin vs. Dooku was awful, fighters too slow, no techniqe and over in a flash.

I think that making Eps 7-9 wouldn't really work. What I thought would be better is if they did a "Young Obi-Wan" serial (vis a via "Young Indiana Jones").

What do you guys think?
 
I believe that the Anakin v Dooku clash was there to show his immaturity and rashness which will be the reason he turns to the Dark Side. Dooku was more in control and that was why he beat him. The Emperor will almost certainly use this petulance to turn him alongside the Jedi council interferring in his marraige. Do you think they will show Darth Vader hunt down and kill the remaining Jedi as was alluded to by Obi-Wan in the original film?
 
There is a rumour that Anakin enters the jedi temple in Ep3 and kill loaRAB of Jedi. However, I don't think they will show any kililng through hand-to-hand combat, because of the Jedi kiRAB. Instead, they will probably show the building getting blown up in an explosion or something along those lines.
 
The difficulty is that there is a dark undertone to all of the stories (illicit love, betrayal, genocide etc etc)...but in order to pitch it to the biggest market these can only be alluded to in really kiddy terms so that the new films are a lot of show and no susbtance...maybe now he's made enough money the bearded one could do the final three in a more adult manner....
 
No jumping about?! Alec Guinness was in his 70's and Dave Prowse in the DV suit has had arthritis problems for years, probably well before he donned the fated black helmet of Darth Vader.

Given the fact that Ep IV was made on a pretty meagre budget, they did quite well!
