Star Wars on Bluray Confirmed, that's the good news!!

Hopefully they don't copy New Line's LOTR tactic and release the TC's and then the SE's seperately in a few years...

And seriously, wtf is George thinking making a "comedy" show? Surely any potential comedy elements have already been mined to death by the Family Guy and Robot Chicken spoofs.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

;)

Well, if the OT non-SE's aren't to be remastered then I'll not be too bothered if they don't turn up on the Blurays, be nice, but the remasters should look stunning, and the extras look tantalising enough.

BTW. I don't care who moans like f*** about it, for whatever reason, I'll be buying them. And for those who can do nothing but moan about it, before you go off on a rant, I don't care, just don't buy them if it bothers you that much! There I said it, though I doubt that'll be the end of it!

Same here. No reason they couldnt have released the SE versions - especially since seamless branching would allow them to include the theatrical versions anyway.

Cynical ploy to wring yet more cash out of the fans.

Thats fine by me - i'm not a purist. Once I have seen a special/extended editions - if I go back and watch the original I only end up "missing scene" spotting anyway.

As for the threat of a comedy series, no please god no!

IMHO the Clone Wars series is the best from Star Wars since the OT anyway, and they have enough humour, along with everything else I expect from Star Wars, so George, c'mon, let's leave it that yeah!

It's possible, it's just a case of how much money Lucasfilm want to screw out of their customers.

Quite frankly, i'm fine with the SE versions. I'd never watch the Theatrical versions again anyway.

According to Lucas the only masters available of the original versions of 4-6 are the Laserdisc masters which is why the dvd's of the original versions are not up to the quality of the remixes.

If thats true they certainly wont be worth putting on Bluray as they don't reach dvd quality let alone Bluray.

Maybe Lucas was lying... which is what everybody thinks anyway.
He simply did not want the original versions to be available in as good quality as the remixes.

Yeah, this a must see, bloody hilarious and pretty much spot on. I thought I'd never be able to watch TPM again, but saw it a few weeks ago and I still enjoyed it in parts, I just ignored a few bits and it wasn't too bad, but I am such a sucker for Star Wars! Started watching the same guys review to Attack of the Clones, but got a bit bored by it!

yeah some of the stuff is hilarious, they are well thought out reviews but certainly require a bit of time, I had to come back to the clones one a few times but definatly worth it seeing it through. Really does expose what a mess Lucas made of the prequals, they must be the biggest disappointments in movie history really, personally i cant even bare to watch them at all lol

I don't get the whole 'GL has had another idea, it must be awful' complaint. In this case I don't think it's even true. From what I understand someone else has had the idea and Lucas has agreed to let them do it. If they're decent enough comedy writers then it shouldn't matter if it's based in the SW universe or my back garden. Besides, GL's last SW project the Clone Wars hasn't been terrible, has it?

As for the BRAB... these are the ones I've been waiting for along with the extended LotR films, so it'll be time to invest in a BD player fairly soon it seems.
