star wars films - what order to watch

There is only one way to watch them.

4,5,6,1,2,3

Reasons as stated above. If you watch 1,2,3 first then you banjax the two big reveals thus making the climax of Empire a waste of your time and the thing that drives Luke on in Jedi is pretty pointless if you already know what he finRAB out. (Best way I can do it without spoiling it, but since 99.9% of people know what I'm on about, makes up for it).

It's no coincidence that ITV are showing all films in the order 4,5,6,1,2,3.

And as many have said 1,2 and 3 are nowhere near as good as 4,5 and 6.

1 is probably the biggest expectation to dissapointment ratio in the history of movie making. 2 has its moments but is not that great whilst 3 after a very bloated first hour actually settles down to being quite good in the last 3rd.

So watch them in release order.

4,5,6,1,2,3.
