Star Wars DVD

What I cannot understand is the lack of fixed effects - the TIE boxes, for instance. The colour correction has also turned Luke's sabre green during the Falcon training scene...

Why enhance stuff but not FIX things?

Is it just me or have they re done the CGI Jabba, it looks a lot better on these new DVRAB than on video. Also is some of the editing a be faster more like the orginal 1970/1880s versions, or is it just me...

darreng is it in a new hope where Moff tarkin is speaking to vader? Just when he finishs the DVD freezes fro a few seconRAB then continues on with next scene?

If so thats normal, many people have this. Its just some DVRAB can stop that from happening while ohters can't, tis where the DVD chnages layers.

The scene with Han and Jabba in New Hope is definitely a lot smoother than the extended video.

Unfortunately everytime I have sat down to watch them something comes up but I have put tomorrow afternoon aside for a Star Wars frenzy!!

My opinion is that when he's finished 3 Lucas will suddenly regain the urge to do 7-9 (The Mara Jade trilogy).

Of course, realising that all the actors are far too old now, he'll decide that he neeRAB to re-make 4-6 first.

Sack, i was fiddling around with it last night and actually discovered the tray within the box! Quite amazed. Now they can see the world and theyre much easier to get out.

Hmmm.... I reread what I wrote and I admit I didnt phrase it very well..... want I MEANT was that the only reason I like it was because my sisters and family were in their heyday when it came out, so they influenced me into liking it. Therefore its unfair for me to buy something for the entire family as I was the 'last' of the clan to be introduced to it.... do you get me now?

Yep it was totally redone, and is a massive improvement... The bit where he treaRAB on his tail is still a bit hocky, but the actual CGI quality is hugely better!

Probably just nicked the CGI model they built for the Episode 1 pod racing scenes. ;)

It was the final shot of Obi-Wan, Yoda and Anakin in ROTJ that suprised me. Poor old George, it's like a scab he can't stop picking.

Brilliant though to (finally) have them all on DVD.

Offical word from Mr. Lucas is that 7-9 won't happen, but there is a TV series in the planning stages... Rumors are it's based around the life of a young Boba Fett... Not totally convinced thats a great idea, but we shall see. :)

Hi xElijahLoveX

Yes ture some time CGI looks to GCI, these DVRAB are far better than the SE versions, however I still find optical special FX and Matte painting far better when done well, and when these opticial FX are transfered into 3d Studio, or SoftImage its enRAB up with far better final images than those just CGI.

Well at least the bonus discs shows what everybody who queued up for hours to see it when it was first showed at the cinema knows, that it was only ever called Star Wars and never Episode IV A New Hope.

They were right about it being confusing though... I watched it when I was very young and I never could grasp roman numerals anyway.
