Star Wars Blu Ray?

What makes you think people are forgetting the presence of the Clone Wars blurays? It's the two trilogies that are the subject of debate here, and have been discussed for a couple of years now. And due to the relative lateness of the original trilogy on DVD, speculation is at peak as to when we can expect them on Bluray.

I must have dreamt up the posts about George apparently having a problem releasing stuff onto Blu ray.....oh no, here's one by yourself;

As for the subject of debate, funny, the narrowing of the scope to only include the movie trilogies isn't implicit in either the thread title or the OP.

I never said anything to contradict the fact that Lucas is being slow with his releasing the movies on Bluray. I'm pretty sure the OP, and other posters here are referring to the 'films' and are quite aware of the existence of the Clone Wars Blurays. I think perhaps you're being slightly over sensitive here.

Grouchy this morning mate, sorry.

I think the general point I was making was that Lucas obviously isn't against putting out stuff onto Blu Ray as he's already released The Clone Wars. The hesitation over a release of the six movies is most likely down to him wanting to tinker with them again rather than skepticism over the format.

Agreed, but I just hope it's not a tinker too far, enough damage has already been done. He has released, as you say Clone Wars, also Indy4, so he's obviously not against Bluray,no. Speilberg neeRAB to sort himself out too.

As far as I'm concerned George can tinker with the movies as much as he likes, just so long as the original versions are still there.

I think, from memory, the only Spielberg movie I have in my blu collection is Close Encounters, which to be fair, is a decent transfer. Still, I wouldn't mind Saving Private Ryan on Blu as well, and Jaws....

Actually, I lie, wasn't Spielberb one of the producers on Band of Brothers? That's probably a benchmark release for Blu ray IMO.

I realise that your comment is likely to be in jest but worth pointing out that it would have been made on video so an HD version not possible anyway

Not true. With the money that Lucas has, he could re-shoot the whole thing AND use CGI to de-age the actors so they look like they did back then.

It would cost millions, but it would be a worthy investment :D
