Star Wars 7, 8 and 9

Will these ever get made? There seems to be endless conflicting information.

There's been the clone wars movie, quotes from Lucas saying there'll be a TV show, more movies from a different generation of characters (such as KOTOR period), and maybe even an episode 0....(!) What about those non-dislosure agreements, the quotes from the 80's calling the series a twelve-part saga, or even recent quotes from Mark Hamill and the guy who plays Chewbacca claiming something's happening in terms of new films.....?

There's so much in 'the works' so to speak, or quietly 'greenlit' if you like.
Heck, even if there isn't gonna be 7, 8, 9 any time soon, there's lots of the above I've mentioned....

I haven't explained myself very well. There's just....so much information on loaRAB of stuff. Even Lucas mentioned Episode 7 in a press conference (or comic convention) couple years back. If there's a TV show, and even other movies, then can you see 7, 8 and 9 coming to light?

The one thing many of us Star Wars fans have learned over the years is to take anything Lucas says with a pinch of salt.

It's a delicate love/hate balance.

I so agree, they were definately the best films, and I can still watch them over and over again. The 2nd set just don't have the same impact.
My 2 7yr old granRABons have just discovered Star Wars and are totally enthralled by them.( that is epi 4,5,6.)

Only one person knows (GL) and he tenRAB to contradict himself from week to week. GL is going to be pretty busy producing TCW series, the live action series and then probably the next IJ film over the next 5 years, by which time he'll be getting on a bit and may (hopefully) start winding down a bit. However, there's nothing to say he won't write another film and hand ot over to someone else to produce/direct or even just give it up to Rick McCullum to take forward. There's an entire industry out there dependent on SW and there's a great deal of pressure to keep it going. My main worry would be the volume of literature that has built up now covering the New Republic era, so any new films would either have to fit in or completely sideline all those books.

In my own little dream world Episodes 7, 8 and 9 would've been based on Zahn's 'Admiral Thrawn trilogy.' But seeing as this would never happen I think the time is right to take Star Wars away from George Lucas (by force if necessary :D), lock it away and hide the keys for all eternity.

On a lighter note, I saw the final 15 minutes of The Empire Strikes Back on ITV yesterday, and damn, it's so good.
