Star Trek VI

I've seen, posted around, that it looks like there will soon be a Star Trek VI movie, produced by the "Lost" crew.

I think there's plenty of scope to do a movie which introduces Spock & Kirk who must have spent many years together, in other ships before Kirk got command of the Enterprise.

So, I wonder if this could be a "post "Enterprise" pre NCC1701" prelude to a Kirk & Spock as junior officers TV series?

Is it time to bring back the TV franchise yet, with a new look, or is it still a bit to early? Personally, I could take it or leave it for a couple of years yet - but it has been a massive show throughout my entire life from about the age of 15 when it first appeared on BBC1.

So I can't see it dying a death for another few years yet. The familiarity/nostalgia card will always draw a worthwhile audience.

Now if Joss Wheedon took it (unlikely, I guess), an early Star Trek would be a great replacement for Firefly/Serenity, which is probably completely dead in the water now - with 2 of the cast being killed off in the movie.

hope captin pike dosent die that would throw a spanner in the warp drive :D
he lives but was in a terrible accident
see The Menagerie: Part 1 & Part 2

Covering that complete period, from SFA to Enterprise in one movie would, indeed, be a mistake - as it rules out the possibility of a new series.

Also, some of those actors woudn't be available for a TV series, so I agree that it would be a mistake with the majority of that cast. I don't see it being a total disaster, though.
