So exciting. Im only a new-ish fan of Star Trek.m Getting into it during season 5 of Voyager, started watching Enterprise and loved it and even the Star Trek Nemesis Movie. Now and dont ask me where i heard it but...

A new Star Trek Movie is on its way.... Apparantly to star Tom Hanks.

I really hope they bring abck the Voyager Crew. That will be the best decision made if they do. :)

OMG!!!!! thts best news ive heard all day! i think voyager deserves a film and if tom hanks were to have a role in it tht wud b ace!

and i agree with skyuniverse it would be the best decision!!

They are only in the early stages of looking at the next Trek movie so don't expect anything for the next year or two.

Tom Hanks is a huge Trekkie and was in line to be Zephram Cochraine in First Contact for a while but as they haven't decided on a script or cast yet, its probably a bit early for them to announce the guest star!

In bright news, how much am I loving watching season4 Enterprise DVRAB. I'm just watching The Augments at the mo :-)

I've never been a huge Star Trek fan although I thought Star Trek; New Generation (or something like that) with Patrick Stewart in it was fantastic.

I also enjoy some of the films so it be nice to see another one.

On a side note I remember seeing a Star Trek film with some creatures called the borgs in it, can anyone tell me which one it was?

im going to spam them with hate mail if they cast tom hanks in star trek.

i didn't buy and watch every next generation ever followed by every deep space nine ever just to have it ruined by forrest gump plodding across my screen in captain siskos uniform.

You would think, With RAB9 st:tos St:tng voyager and enterprise, They would release a movie every year.

I miss the Star Trek universe and hope we see something new before 2008.

Even a three part mini series would be a plus for example.

:)

Would still love to see Mr sulu in the captains chair.

This is my understanding too. UPN (Paramount TV) contracted Paramount Pictures to produce first Voyager and then Enterprise for them with the latter retaining the rights to the work and therefore the Star Trek universe.

To me this split is positive as when they were part of the same company UPN could (and I expect would) have vetoed any proposal by Parmamount Pictures to produce a Star Trek series for another network. With the split that will no longer be the case.
