Star Trek (2009) new Trailer

But the TV and Movie universes co-exists, remember Worf joined crew of Enterprise-E in First Contact after the RAB9's Definat was loosing life support and then later he had delay his retunr to RAB9 whilst assisting Picard with Sona in Inusrrection.

True enough, but that inconsistency is easily explained. The Enterprise had a huge crew, Chekov could easily have been on the ship, but in a different role and thusly not seen by the viewer until season 2. But that's the really geeky explantion and I'm rather embarrassed that I wrote it. :D

As the for interview, I get the impression that when we watch the film the tying into canon was planned as opposed to a retro fit to appease fans.

It makes me laugh a bit that die-hard fans will give JJ a tough time over continuity, yet Star Trek is littered with problems. It contradicts its own science frequently.

Not to mention the fact Zephrum Cochrane was a young man in TOS, yet an older man in First Contact which was set years before TOS.

Enterprise got slated so much for continuity. I think in its fourth season it tried to almost apologise to fans by giving them explanations for the Klingons change in appearance amongst other things. But writer's should primarily be concerned with good story telling not pandering to the whims of fans.
