Star Trek (2009) new Trailer

Well its gone to "0 0 0" with no trailer - now its got "1 1 5" it seems to be counting up.

So they screwed up by not having it online Friday and now they can't even manage their own timescale.
 
Took the plunge and watched it and the quality is surprisingly good. I avoided a previously leaked trailer on YouTube because the quality was awful but this one is fine.

It's done it's job too - I'm really excited for this movie. I think Zachary Quinto in particular will be amazing, and will make a brilliant Spock. Looks like perfect casting there.
 
I'm positive it was never mentioned. But as I said, it appears Kirk spenRAB most of this film as NOT the Captain of the Enterprise anyway.

I'm actually betting that he won't get his Captain stripes until the very end of the movie. In the trailer there is only one shot of him wearing his yellow shirt and he says "buckle up." I reckon that's the very end of the film (trailers always seem to stick a scene from the very end in somewhere!) as Kirk finally takes command.



To be honest, they could quite easily play with that sort of continuity without screwing things over. If it is mentioned at all, it is no more than a throwaway line (and I'm still convinced its never been mentioned outside of books) and Trek has a history of small continuity fluRAB that matter very little. Besides, we could just put it down to Kirk and Carol being so old and wrinkly by St2 and 3, that their memories had got a little muddled and she actually helped Kirk celebrate his promotion.

As for Riker and the holosuite, only two men are capable of pulling off something that trite! (also, note your unforgivable continuity gaffe - the Enterrpise-D had holoDECKS. Tut tut.)
 
Excellent! that's the second trailer I've watched this afternoon which has made me rather excited, the first being the latest Harry Potter one.

I love the fact that lots of hardened Trekkies hate it, i guess they're the same people who loved voyager;)

I think it'd be really funny to irritate those who already have a disdain for the film to have Sulu have the hots for Kirk. Cannon smannon. ;)
 
I can see it now. . .Sulu saying to Kirk, Don't call me Tiny :D

I wonder if Cho will play Sulu with a touch of camp given that Takei somewhat unsurprisingly gave 60's Sulu a definite bit ooooooooooor noooooooooooooooooooooooo, especially with the famous sword fighting scene. Not to mention getting to sit next to Chekov for nearly all of a 5 year mission. :D
 
Hahahaha, funniest thing I've read all day! :D

Come to think of it, in ST3, didn't Sulu say to the guard "Am I keeping you up?" just before the guard called him tiny? Oh how I'm never going to be able to watch that scene with a straight face again (pun intended) :p
