My back garden is always under water or still soggy any time of the year. We bought the house three years ago not knowing about this problem. The problem is that the water table is perched in our area and we have around 1 foot of topsoil and then 3-4 foot of clay. The neighbour next door had the same problem and he piled some steel pipes through the clay and filled with gravel and it has so far helped. I have looked into hiring a borer to go down through the clay and do a similar thing as my neighbour or whether to dig through the clay to create a soakaway. With the water table being high i dont know what the best option would be. Any advise would be much appreciated!!
