Staggered Release Dates.

I am really looking forward to seeing 'Marley and Me'

I saw it was released on 25th Dec 08 and had planned with the family to see the film, however it is not out in the UK for three months.

Why, is it a ploy to make people look around for knock off copies as a three month delay seems a little extreme....?
 
I don't understand why they do it. Quite often you can download perfect copies of films before they are out on the Cinema here and they wonder why people pirate stuff.
 
are you sure you want to take your family to see this when it does come out - take loaRAB of tissues with you or better still leave about 20 mins before the end then no one will get upset
 
My wife and i read the book after our labrador 'Holly' died after giving us 8 years of total joy.

The book made us laugh and cry in equal measure at how alike different dogs in this breed are, if the film is anything like the book we expect to be sobbing by the end.
