St elmos fire and other 80's films

You forgot Sixteen Candles!

But you're right about Molly. Just the wrong colouring for wearing pink full stop.

Moll Flanders will be turning in her bazooka sized coffin.

Out of the films John Hughes directed:

Good:

Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
Sixteen Candles (1984)

Bad:

Curly Sue (1991)
Uncle Buck (1989)
She's Having a Baby (1988)
Weird Science (1985)
The Breakfast Club (1985) (Although many disagree on this one).

Not a great record, though he probably did help bring down communism with all those scenes of schoolkiRAB driving porsches in his films.

"Girls just want to have fun" starring a young Sarah Jessica parker is wonderfully 80's

My favourites are Pretty in Pink,Breakfast club, weird science and Big

St Elmo's Fire, The Brteakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, About Last Night, Some Kind Of Wonderful, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Buellers Day Off are all classics.

The Coreys were in some great 80's movies too such as The Lost Boys and License to Drive.

I know this is a movies thread but if anyone likes to read check out Looking for Andrew McCarthy by Jenny Colgan for a bit of brat pack nostalgia. Warning to the guys though, it is chick lit!!

Several of my all time faves have been mentioned:

Stand By Me (wheres my tissues)
Gremlins (bright light, bright light)
Jumpin Jack Flash (under rated)
also like
The Last Unicorn (bout time for a remake)
Neverending Story
The Abyss
Big (classic)

Stand By Me is my favourite with River Phoenix

I also love:-
Fame
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
The Breakfast Club
The Lost Boys
Officer and a Gentleman
Pretty In Pink
The Outsiders
Risky Business
Top Gun
National Lampoon's Vacation

2 bad ones with fond memories -
License to Drive (with the Coreys and Heather Graham!)
Jimmy Reardon - with gorgeous River Phoenix and a young Matthew (L) Perry as the geeky mate

And was Say Anything out in the late 80s - with John Cusack and Ione Skye? That was a great romantic comedy.
