squire vibe vs. yamaha pacifica?

i am gonna get a guitar soon and i have 2 choices, a yamaha pacifica and a squire vibe strat.

i play rock and reggae.

what would you say is better.

plus, i am also getting into hendrix.

which would be better?
 
The Pacifica is voted best introductory strat style guitar year after year by UK Guitarist magazine. Indonesian and Chinese Squiers (not Squires) are only good for campfires (as fuel that is). The Indian ones however are very good and worth considering. It cannot be denied that the Fender logo and headstock shape compensate a lot for the extra quality of the Yamaha. I'd start with the Pacifica 112 and later upgrade to a Mexican Strat.
