Sprint to Tmobile

I had an 8703 on Sprints network. I almost had a heart attack when I realized I lost it! I am going to take advantage of the situation and switch to Tmobile so I can take it out of the country (Russia) when I go a couple times a year instead of the crappy unlocked flip phone I have been taking.

I think I am going to go for the Pearl so it is easier to carry around with me. I want to take my phone number with me to Tmobile. What issues am I going to run into if I go into the store and have them take the number away from sprint for my new phone? I am going to pay the termination fee with Sprint, but besides that is there any issues?

How does the Blackberry service get switched over to Tmobile from Sprint? Is this going to cause me any problems at all?

Sould I call Sprint and tell them this is going to happen or should I just do it and pay the fee when it comes in the mail?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Will probably go get the new one tomorrow so I don't feel so naked!

Should be no problems with data service because it will be a new data account with new pin and email service. As far as your number port it should be easy as long as your account is current.
 
I had two of our numbers ported over from Sprint and everything seems like it is working well, although the Tmobile signal at my home doesn't seem as strong as Sprint was, but I will not just go off of the signal strength meter, I will see how it goes using the phones.

I really hope it works out well during the 30 day trial period (California) because it seems like this phone and Tmobile has some pretty cool stuff compared to my 8703e and Sprints network.
