Sprint or Verizon?

I am asking for some help on a decision. I?ll be getting some new cell phone service pretty soon, and I want to know which one I should get. First of all, let me tell you why I am in this dilemma. Many people in the town that I live in are on Verizon Wireless. This is fine, but some are also on different carriers.

You may know this already, but Verizon offers a text messaging plan that will provide unlimited messaging to Verizon costumers, but only 500 messages to other carriers. Sprint offers unlimited messages to anybody. The problem is, if I get Verizon, I won?t be able to send or receive very many messages from people with sprint, cingular, t-mobile, etc. However, I?ll be able to exchange unlimited messages with other Verizon costumers. IF I get Sprint, I get unlimited messages to anybody. The only problem with this is that Verizon costumers won?t be able to send me very many messages due to their 500 out-of-carrier limit.

Which should I get? Verizon or Sprint?

By the way, both services have equal coverage in my area, and they both have the phone that I want. I am happy with voice plans offered by each company. The only reason that I am asking this is because of text messaging, so please do not include any suggestions such as ?Verizon has better ________?.

where do you live?
depends a lot on that

also what rate plans ar eyou lloking at... i know vzw and sprints plans are very different

id stay away from both but... look at the plans and coverage... u may have horrid sprint covereage or sport verizon
 
Ask your neighbors which service they have and how satisfied they are. In my area both Cingular and Verizon had full coverage but for some reason when I had Verizon, I got next to no signal in my neighborhood. I switched to Cingular and now I have full signal. Since I spent alot of time at home it was very important to have a good signal.

Take this and then weigh it against how many text messages you plan on using. If you don't plan on using more than 250, 500 isn't that limiting.

Then then make your final decision.
 
Don't forget that MVNO's like Amp'd Mobile also offer service on the Verzion network. They too have a texting plan and I believe it is unlimited to anyone and everyone and you can receive for free too I think. But you would loose M2M which might be a big deal to you.
 
Verizon does have larger text plans than that, although they are kind of pricey. I believe there is a 2500 plus unlimited IN. you might want to keep that in mind. good luck

if price is an issue and you like data and not getting rapped on your bill plus you asked everybody if sprint got good reception id go for it.
