Sprint HTC touch ???...pls help me?

I have a HTC touch and the screen just turn in different colors red, green,blue and white going down like when tv channels dont work....and at the bottom it said SERIAL and when i connect it to the charger it said USB..last time i just left it on so it could run out of battery and then connected to the charger but i try the samething this time and it doesnt want to work...I toke off the battery and put it on and it still does the same thing
