Spray paint and primer?

I am spray painting a piece of plywood with silver paint. Would it be a big deal if I do not use a primer before?

It would need the primer , or you will use a TON of spray paint , The wood would soak the paint up fast and it would look so much better if you primed first , Just try it on 2 different small spaces , u will see ,

well it depends on the color of the wood. if it is a darker wood than i would recommend using primer. But if it is a flawless, light colored piece of wood than don't worry about it, just keep in mind that it might not look as good.

Plywood is rough and porous. You will need to prime the plywood first in order to prepare the plywood to accept the silver paint. If you do not prime the plywood, the silver paint will absorb into the plywood, leaving a patchy paint job of uneven color.

You would be wise to roll or paint on some primer before you spray with the silver paint in order to get the best results.
