I'm considering making my major to Sports Management at Central Michigan University. I want to do something with sports when I get older such as work for ESPN, or a professional ball club. Is this a smart degree to go for money and job demand wise?

No.

A sports management degree is far too concentrated, you would be better studying a broader business degree, not only will you learn more about the overall business world, but it will open up more doors for you.

You also need to think long-term, a job at ESPN or a ball club are not just waiting there for fresh graduates with zero experience and those that are go to those from top business schools-- and not many of those offer a degree in sports management.
