Sports fans, how do you decide how much you like a team?

Other than how close you live to them?

I could almost list every team, from my favorite to least favorite, in every sport...

So how do you decide how much you like a team? It seems I just have a gut feeling about who I like more. There isn't any real reasoning behind it. For instance: this season, I've discovered I actually like the Patriots and the Bengals more than I thought I did.
 
I will never ever like the Pats or the Bengals. Just like I will never ever like that stupid Ala team (roll on this tide) lmao.

But any way to answer your question. I am a huge UT fan and a huge Titans fan. For me it was not that I lived close to them because I am from Indiana. The fans are what made me want to become a UT fan. Just the whole fan base.

For the Titans it was because they moved to TN in 1995. Gave me a home team that I actually like. I lived in Indianapolis and was never a Colts fan. (I am however a Manning fan).

For basketball I like the Suns. I just like their whole uptempo type of play.

The list could go on but I think you get the picture. Different things sway my opinion on each and every team.

I either like a team, really dislike a team, or could care less about a team unless they are playing a team I like.

Long answer but I think you get it.
 
For me personally, it depends on their style of play and the individual characteristics of the team itself.

I usually find myself more drawn towards a team because of one or two players in that team, or because of the way the team plays.
