SpongeBob in Animax Japan?

It is weird considering how there's already a Japanese feed of Nick there
Ah well, if Family Guy can air on multiple channels in America, Spongebob can do the same in Japan.

Nick Japan had shut down last year, its site still around though.

And why are you linking to us a spanish article, Mesousa? I already knew of the news, but still...

Why is it weird? Animax was never intended on being an all-anime network. They aired stuff like Men in Black, Jumanji, and The Real Ghostbusters at launch. Of course they were Sony-owned brands, but still, not weird.

Nickelodeon lost a Japanese channel? Ouch. Perfect reason, then.

...I was just on that website, and it just surprised me, that's all.

Actually it originally was supposed to be a all-anime channel, but changed their standards sometime between 2008-2009.

Just last May, they completely changed the channel, and logo on Asia and Latin America (Germany will get this look in August, and evetually it'll be worldwide), to more of a variety network, and while Asia still airs mostly anime, Latin America...well...it;s pretty bad there.

AT LAUNCH (i.e., at the beginning of the network's history), Animax aired Western fare like Men in Black, Jumanji, and The Real Ghostbusters. They didn't become all-anime until 2001, two years AFTER Animax launched (that would be 1998 when it launched and right on the cusp of the anime implosion taking over the world.
