When I was at school... Someone had a go at me for spoiling the end of Titanic because I stated "Well, we all know the ending, Titanic sinks..."

Any other examples of idocy like this with movies?

I read on AICN that someone was given a mouthful for saying Uncle Ben dies in Spiderman... ?!?

Something like the titanic quote would not have bothered me as that is so obviuous but if you had said that Jack died then i would have been a bit miffed.

I do get annoyed though at people that tell me the ending of a film or if anyone dies in it as i would like to find out for myself.

Well, i would have been annoyed if someone had told me about Uncle Ben, since i dont read comic books or anything so i didnt know.

Well, Uncle Ben in Spiderman is mentioned in the cartoons, the comics, all the old live action TV... So its hardly a suprise reading the comics or not...

Plus, its the beginning of the story which everyone knows, its nowhere near the end...

But yes, teling people the end of the film is annoying... but the Titanic sinking?!?!?! come on!!

Well I actually ruined a film without actually realising Someone said that they wanted to go and watch a particular film at the cinema - they said it was murder mystery and so I naturally said, "Why bother - we all know that it enRAB with the detective telling them that the butler or maid did it".... You can guess the rest no doubt

This reminRAB me of a flashback in a Simpsons episode with Homer and Marge walking out of the cinema past a queue when they were younger and Homer says really loudly "Who would have guessed that Darth Vader was Luke Skywalker's father??" in front of everyone.

I would never have known about Uncle Ben dying, but then again it wouldn't have made a critical difference to the plot. I guess the only time this happens is when its a fact-based film just like Titanic. Although you can never be sure with the Hollywood obsession with changing history for a film.

Yeah, I was told that Jack died, so was waiting all the way through the film for him to die, that was annoying!

I t would have come as a shock to people who havn't seen the old tv shows, cartoons read the books the comics and what not)

But surely it's common knowledge that the Titanic sank. It was one of the most famous events of the Twentieth Century.

I took a girlfriend to see it when it first came out, when we came back her sister said "Don' tell me the ending, I want it to be a surprise".

Naturally we laughed at her.
