Spirit iPod/iPhone Jailbreak?

Earlier I jailbroke my iPod 32GB (3.1.2) with Spirit. it worked fine on my computer. Said it was successful. Then a load bar appeared on my iPod. It loaded. But after that the little circular iPod loading symbol came up cand has been going for like, 40+ minutes. My friend jailbroke his iPod fine and told me that this should happen and it'll take a while, but 40 MINUTES?! Should it be taking this long?
 
It was recommend you upgrade to 9.1 i believe on itunes and 3.1.3
No it should take that long it should take maybe 5-10 mins * after backup of course *

*If you currently are using a tethered jailbreak, you have to restore to use Spirit. Do not upgrade if you use an unlock on an iPhone 3G or 3GS. (You can, however, restore to 3.1.2 if you have SHSH blobs for that version.)

maybe you had a tethered JB before

try restoring upgrading to 3.1.3 and running spirit
