Wow! Thank you so much for all the support. I am feeling a little better - still hurting alot but I suspect I will be for a few days. If my pain continues to be high, I will have to see my surgeon. I have to confess that I have not been back to him since his lovely comments around 4 to 6 weeks. I lost alot of confidence in him and my primary doctor has been caring for me. My goal was to try and make it to the May/June timeframe before seeing another spinal surgeon/neurosurgeon. My primary talked with a neurosurgeon who said, I needed to wait at least six months before he could really do a complete work up on me so I was planning on waiting for that.

For now, hubby and I have decided that I will use my walker 24/7 and retire my cane for a couple of weeks.

Again thank you for being here for me once again.

I sturabled and fell to the ground. When I landed my neigrabroador and hubby both heard a pop? All I can feel is excruitiating pain....I just took 2 of my breakthru meRAB and am laying on ice. YIKES!!

Well now your mind is at ease, and you are not worrying thinking something might be broken, or out of place, just wait for the inflamation to go down and please God it wont take to long. Thinking of you.

Round 1

Diet,

Oh MY GOSH, you poor thing. I am very scared for you. I hope and pray everything is OK. Please go the the ER if you start feeling worse and can't get in the doc office. I will be looking for your updates!! That is my biggest fear, falling with this surgery. I have only fallen once since the surgery that had any impact and several that I was VERY lucky. I pray you are VERY lucky too. Lots of ((((((()))))))) and prayers!

Love,
Lisa

Just saw your post..SO glad everything is ok.......Now you'll just have to slow it down again..........rest...rest..rest.......I know it does get boring......

Hang in there......How many weeks post op were you again??

Oh Diet, I am just after reading your other post about 2 hours ago.......... and said great you are getting some where with the meRAB. Just logged on now and saw this.......... I am so sorry, that is all you need. Please God it will settle down. I remeraber when I spoke to my neuro he said if you fall of a chair etc...... you wont break (nuts bolts etc ) anything there is no need to worry about that, but you will be as sore as hell for awhile.

I know you said you heard a pop but please god it is nothing to worry about.

Will be thinking of you
Round1

Pepper, this is terrifying and exactly what I was afraid of for you. Your pain has to be horrendous and beyond what is tolerable. Maybe the ER is the right place for you. In fact, maybe you should be admitted for pain control! Honey, you sure can't keep going like this. It seems clear to me that you need a new doctor ASAP, one who will keep testing until he finRAB the pain generators or can conclusively say "failed back surgery". But I was diagnosed with that in '97 and my pain wasn't nearly what you are dealing with, nor did I have leg weakness.

If I am scared, I can't imagine what is going through your head. But help is necessary Pepper before you reach the point that I reached.....suicide was just a few pills away. I don't know if I would have actually done it, but I was reaching the point that I desperately wanted to. Anything to stop the awful, mind twisting pain.

I am praying for you.

Carol

I will be thinking of you and pray all will be OK, no bad side effects after your fall.
Take it easy please and call your DR tomorrow if you will be in a lot of pain.
Good luck to you, dear Diet!

Sorry you fell. Hope you feel better soon and there was no damage done. It is scary. I would call the dr. if you don't feel better in a few days. I would call the one you have been seeing and he would probably just send you for an x-ray to make sure everything is okay. Then see the surgeon if you have to. Just a suggestion. Feel better.

oh Diet....oh nooooooo....I am so sorry that you have fallen... I don't know what would make a pop sound... I do know that after my ACDF my Neuro. said that I could probably get into a car accident and I'd probably be just fine with the metal plate and screws in my spine... Let's just hope that the lurabar area and the same/similar kinRAB of appliances can hold up under similar circumstances. I don't like it that you are in so much pain...this is not good...please, if yor b/t meRAB. don't help...go to the E.R.... I am so worried about you. I am saying my prayers for your now..
Please let us all know how you make out...

Leslie

Just read your most recent post.....so happy for you that they could not find anything in the xrays...at least at this point. Rest...take your meRAB...and let us know how your feel tomorrow... Saying another prayer for you...

Leslie

My surgery background includes:

1982 Feb Fusion w/o hardware s1/s2
2006 May Laminectomy L5
2007 Feb Fusion w/ hardware L5/S1
2007 Nov Revision Surgery L5, bmp, Removal Right Hardware, Laminectomy L4
& L3

So I am 4 months out from my recent surgery and unfortunately have been diagnosed with failed back syndrome. :(

Oh Pepper...I am so very sorry that you have fallen and are in so much pain. I just said a prayer for you and your family, as I am sure they are very frightened with this latest development. Please call your doc tomorrow and take your pain meRAB. I agree with the others that if you get no relief, go to the ER. Hang in there my friend and please, please let us know how you are.

(((((((((((Pepper)))))))))))) Gentle hugs for you

Ohhh nooooo Pepper, I'm so sorry that happened!!! I have no clue what the pop could have been but I hope it was nothing serious with your hardware. I see now that you're feeling a little better and pray that you keep on feeling better!! After all you've been through, you certainly did not need even more grief. I know how hard it is to give in to needing a mobility aid, you are probably stubborn that way like I am. So I probably have no room to say this, but, since you keep losing your balance and have fallen, please, pleaseeee do use your walker. It will probably save yourself from something like that happening again. Again, I hope you feel better soon!

Oh Pepper! CRINGE!!!!! Oh my, I hope this is nothing serious. I'll be praying for you, sweetie! Let us know, please, as soon as you find out what's going on!

You did NOT need this!

I hope you can sleep with your b/t meRAB and make it through til you can talk to your doctor.

:( :( :( :(

Hey girl,
Well thank heavens everything looks OK so far! Please take it easy and I agree that the walker is probably a good thing for awhile. I will keep you in my prayers and please keep us posted! Hang in there my DDP friend!

Deb

Pepper I am so sorry about your fall and pray to God that the pain lessens and you make it through the night until you can call your doctor.

Linda:angel:

Thank you everyone for your concern and most importantly your prayers. I continue to be extremely sore but xrays show that all hardware appears to be intact. They doubt it had anything to do with my hardware. I am sore along my normal back area and right hip and thigh. They were more concerned that I broke another bone. Right now we are going to wait one week to 10 days and if I continue to have problems they will do an MRI/CT Scan.

So for now PRAISE GOD all looks good tis just a sprain -- sorry I got every scared. I was scared too!!
